We schedule routine appointments from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The office is open Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 9 a.m. and is covered by a single physician. Parents who want their child seen for an urgent issue should call the office after 9 AM to schedule an appointment. Problems of a chronic nature, behavioral issues or minor medical matters are addressed during routine office hours.
If your child needs to be seen because of an illness, same day appointments during office hours are always available. Please call ahead to obtain a time. Should your primary physician be fully booked or out of the office, you will be able to see another physician in the practice.
If you schedule an appointment for an illness, please note that a full check-up cannot be done at that appointment. Please schedule separate appointments for that purpose and revisit us when your child is well.
We are available at all times to deal with emergent medical issues of your child. During office hours, a child with an emergent illness will be seen promptly. After regular office hours, one of our physicians is always available to respond to emergency calls.
Camp and School Physicals
All appointments for required physicals must be made at least six weeks in advance in order to ensure that all paperwork can be completed and delivered.
We are happy to fill out forms for you based on information already in your child's medical record whenever possible as long as your child has had a physical in the office within the past 6 months. We will email the forms directly to you, or you may pick them up yourself at our office. We cannot fax these forms.
We do our best to run on schedule, as we realize that your time is also valuable. There are many ways you can assist us in staying on time:
- Please be on time for your appointment!
- Walk-in appointments are strongly discouraged. Same day visits for illnesses are always available provided you phone first.
- If you schedule a visit for one child, please bring that child only. If more than one child needs to be seen, please inform us so that enough time is allotted for you.
When arriving at Global Pediatrics, please sign in on the appropriate clipboard. If you are part of a managed care plan, you will be asked for your insurance card at each visit.
Please stop at the check-out desk after your visit is completed. Follow-up and routine appointments may be made at the check-out desk. Payments can be made by check, cash or charge card. We accept American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. Payment is expected at the time of your visit.
We receive a large number of phone calls each day. When calling us, please let us know if you are calling about a medical concern, appointment, medication refill or referral.
We are available all day to receive your phone calls.
All calls for medical concerns are initially answered by one of our pediatric nurses. They are most often able to answer your questions about illness, and can advise you on routine well-child care issues. They may also advise you in administering non-prescription treatments and medications. If they are not completely comfortable in advising you, your doctor will call you. You may always request an appointment for an illness if you feel your child should be seen.
Referrals must be requested at least three days prior to your appointment unless the visit is an emergency.
Referrals can be mailed directly to the doctor or picked up at our office. Referrals cannot be faxed. If you do not request a referral prior to seeing a specialist, we will not prepare or backdate a referral. This violates our contract with our insurance company. Without a valid referral you could become responsible for payment of any charges incurred at the specialist's office.
